freshwater providing the pH is slightly alkaline. Does not tolerate
acidic water very well. In the wild they feed
mainly on terrestrial insects that fall in the water, but in the
aquarium they also feed happily on flake food, frozen bloodworms and
frozen mysis. Despite its look, this is a peaceful fish, and will
not bother most tankmates. A good jumper, the tank must have a
tight-fitting cover.
