 | Zebra Danio--Wild Stock Danio rerio (India) |
 | Ananda Danio Devario pathirana (Sri Lanka) This is a critically endangered fish in Sri Lanka (to which it is endemic). Occurs in still pools to swift flowing streams with pebble or boulder substrates, seldom over sand. Forms groups of 3-5 individuals slowly moving near the surface. Probably feeds on insects. Aquarium fish exporters voluntarily refrained from collecting this species until it was better understood and bred commercially. The specimens I have have been bred in Sri Lanka from wild collected stock.
